The company is wholly owned by Stuart and Margaret Coates.
After retiring from Lancashire Constabulary in 2003, Stuart went to work for Fraser Eagle of Padiham as an area manager for their rail-replacement operation, meeting rail operators, planning for pre-planned rail closures, and handling emergencies.
After a few years, in 2007, he seized the opportunity to buy a coach of his own. He made it clear he was only having one coach but was persuaded to buy a school bus, or two, or a few. As time went on, expansion continued until today the company has 36 vehicles, ranging from new international touring coaches to double decker buses and a few minibuses.
The coaches are used for Moving Peoples own door-to-door holidays, wonderful excursions, and private hire ranging from school trips to international tours.
Of course, the vehicles are just the tools to achieve the goal and we are very clearly in the "people business" (or the Moving PEOPLE business if you wish). We try our very best to recruit the most customer-dedicated smiley faces with the best skills, whether this involves driving, administration or engineering.
The Support Team
Whilst working with Fraser Eagle, Stuart met Glen Chamberlain who was the workshop manager of the maintenance section. Glen went on to work in an engineering and training environment and returned to join Stuart and Margaret to lead the company as their Chief Executive Officer.
We carry out our own vehicle maintenance and Joseph leads the team of Lee, Philip, Joel, Steven, Michael, and Claire. Their hard work has ensured we are recognised by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency as a Green Operator, meaning we continue to meet and exceed their demanding standards of safety and maintenance.
Everyone in the office works as a team:
Ken, Christian and Joe
all deal with day to day enquiries inclduing taking customer bookings. Christian maintains the duty roster and to make sure the customer, the driver and the vehicle are brought together at the right time to achieve our objective of superb customer service.
Jane and Colette
plan all the holidays and excursions, make all the arrangements with hotels and visitor attractions and, we believe, provide an amazing service to ensure our customers can book with confidence.
creates all our school and service information packs that provide our drivers with everything they need to know about the timetable, the route, and the customers.
Our customers most important person on the day is the driver: each of them has their own special talent and we try our best to reach their potential. For instance, if we want to check a new service or work out the complications of a ticket machine, we ask the husband and wife team of William and Janette. If we want to do a UK or European tour, we will ask David, Stuart, Farouk, or Graham. On the other hand, we have our excursion experts in the guise of John or Stephen.
We cannot name everyone in the company but please be assured we have a tremendously loyal and skilled team of professionals to understand customer service as their priority.

If you are a group organiser, we can provide a vehicle to suit your needs, from a 16-seat minibus to a 59-seat executive coach, including vehicles with access for those with mobility needs, and fully equipped with drinks machines, washrooms and air-conditioning.
If you are a school teacher or administrator, we can provide vehicles with up to 78 seats for local destinations, such as swimming baths or educational visits. We also work with organisations such as NST and PGL for those national and international school trips.
