Castle and Afternoon Tea in the Shires

Itinerary

As we leave Lancashire, we begin our journey to Peterborough where we arrive at our hotel with time to settle in and unpack before we enjoy our evening meal. We enjoy 2-day excursions and on one day we visit the historic castle and stately home, Belvoir Castle situated in Leicestershire. We then travel the short journey to the beautifully situated Drunken Duck Pub in the Vale of Belvoir with its extensive beer garden overlooking the canal. The Vale of Belvoir borders Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, and Lincolnshire. At the pub we enjoy an afternoon tea with hot drinks before we get some free time to walk off our lunch. Another day out includes the market town of Newark in Trent on market day, a historic and picturesque town famed for its role in the English Civil War. That afternoon we visit the famous Sherwood Forest. Stretching over 30 miles from Nottingham to Worksop, the forest was made legendary as the home of Robin Hood, the famous outlaw! We also enjoy a day at leisure to explore Nottingham and the local areas. On our final day after breakfast, we will be collecting our luggage and beginning our journey back to Lancashire with refreshments on the way. As we return, your taxis will be waiting to take you and your luggage back to your home.
