Itinerary

As we leave Lancashire, we begin our journey to Scotland stopping on the way for breakfast in Dumfries. We arrive at The Invercarse Hotel with time to settle in and relax before our evening meal is served in the splendid restaurant. We enjoy 3-day excursions during our holiday to include the Falkirk Wheel, a rotating boat lift connecting the Forth and Clyde with the Union Canal. We enjoy a 60-minute tour as you sail through the sky to join the Union Canal 35m above and through the Roughcastle Tunnel along the aqueduct. We also have a tour of the stunning Kelpies, a 30-metre-high horse head sculpture standing on the Forth and Clyde Canal, we spend some time here where you can visit the visitor centre or grab a bite to eat in the Helix Café. We head on to Falkirk for time at leisure. Another day out is the historic market town of Blairgowrie on the banks of the River Ericht for free time. In the afternoon we head to the ancestral Glamis Castle in the heart of Angus. The Castle was the home of the Queen Mother and the inspiration for William Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Here we enjoy a guided castle tour and admission to the spectacular garden and grounds. We also enjoy a day at leisure exploring the monuments, museums, and historic atmosphere of Perth. After breakfast on the final day, we head home stopping on the way for a light lunch. Our Door-to-Door transport will be available to take you home.
