We travel to Scarborough with a meal stop on the way, arriving in time to relax before we get ready for our evening meal. We have two and a half day excursions which include the North Yorkshire Moors Railway in Pickering. We travel from the must see 1930s themed station at Pickering which will transport us back in time to the steam era, through 24 miles of Yorkshires amazing scenery to the famous seaside town of Whitby. Once in Whitby, we have free time to explore the narrow streets, attractions, and bustling harbour, overlooked by the striking ruins of Whitby Abbey. We enjoy half a day in Filey, the perfect place for those who enjoy a gentler pace of life, a little off the beaten track and all the better for it. Also included is Burton Constable Hall, Stables and Garden. A spectacular Elizabethan architectural gem set in glorious parkland, with 30 grand rooms crammed with fine decorative art, furniture, and country house paraphernalia. After we have visited one of Yorkshires most spectacular historic country houses, we travel to the coastal town of Bridlington, with its elegant promenades, sandy beaches, and historic harbour. We have a free afternoon in Scarborough, the original seaside resort, offering stunning scenery and glorious beaches. Stroll along the promenade and simply enjoy all the attractions of a traditional seaside resort, a day full of good old-fashioned fun! On the final day after a leisurely breakfast, we return to Lancashire to meet our transport home.
