Somerset Carnivals and Christmas Markets

Itinerary

We depart from our homes and set off on route to the Somerset coast with a stop on the way for lunch. We arrive at our hotel in time to freshen up before our evening meal. This is an exciting Turkey and Tinsel holiday where we can enjoy a Christmas dinner and a visit from Santa. The holiday also includes 3 exciting days out, the first thrilling charm is the spectacular Glastonbury Carnival with a huge procession of colour and an array of illuminated carnival floats and amazing costumes. We also visit the outstanding setting of Cheddar Gorge with its breathtaking caves and awe-inspiring cliffs, here you can take in the view of England’s largest gorge. After our sufficient visit to the Gorge, we head to Bristol where the Christmas Markets are awash with lights and seasonal delights. If shopping isn’t your thing, then there is so much to do in the city. Another of our days takes us to the ancient county of Somerset for ample free time and then onto Wells, England’s smallest city with its cobbled streets, history, magnificent Cathedral, and unique moated Bishops Palace. We also have 2 days at leisure in the fabulous Weston-super-Mare with its fabulous beaches, many eateries and new pier. On our final day after breakfast, we head home with a stop on the way for refreshments.
