Lincolnshire and the Coast

Itinerary

We head to Lincolnshire from Lancashire, stopping on the way for lunch. We arrive at the Barn Hotel amd Spa in in Grantham with biscuits and refreshments on arrival, we then have time to freshen up and settle in before our evening meal. Our holiday includes 2 ½ day excursions in the exciting county. We head east to the traditional seaside resort of Skegness where the morning is free for you to explore the seaside resort. We head back to the hotel where you can relax and enjoy the spa, hotel or explore the surrounding area of Grantham. Another day we head to Newark-on-Trent for market day. Perhaps visit the National Civil War Centre, Newark Castle, or search for a bargain at one of the antiques centres in the town. Later, we take a drive through the countryside to Sleaford, a quaint market town known for its crafts and art. Our final day takes us to the City of Peterborough. The cathedral is worth a visit for fans of the Tudors with it home to the grave of the Kathryn of Aragon and former grave of Mary Queen of Scots and in the afternoon, we journey to Stamford. Perhaps visit the Collegiate Church of Saint Mary, enjoy a drink by the riverside or maybe explore Victoria Park with its aviary, glass house and gardens. We head home after breakfast on the final day with a refreshment stop en-route.
